Janesville man, woman arrested after vehicle theft with child

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -A man and woman were arrested Friday after allegedly stealing a vehicle with a two-year-old child inside in Janesville.
Janesville Police were dispatched to the Stop N Go at 714 Center Ave for a report of a stolen vehicle around 4:30 p.m. Officials said the two-year-old child was found abandoned on the side of Riverside Street, still in the car seat. The child was unharmed.
The two suspects were later found by the Rock County Sheriff’s Office near Beloit.
The man was arrested on multiple charges, including felony operating a vehicle without owner’s consent, abduction of another’s child, child abandonment, two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and felony bail jumping.
The woman was arrested for felony operating a vehicle without owner’s consent, abduction of another’s child, child abandonment and two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Town of Beloit Police Department, City of Beloit Police Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol assisted the Janesville Police Department.
